Tis' the season for giving thanks! Part 1 of 2

I can't believe how fast time has flown!  It is already November with Thanksgiving coming up this Thursday.  Although it may seem that Eye on Language has been quiet, but I've been busy throughout the Fall with many presentations!   I would like to say thank you for a successful 2010.

I have presented at many places this Fall:
    1) CNYRID - Strategies for Deaf and Hearing Individuals to Become Allies - October 1st
    2) OCM BOCES - ASL to English and English to ASL Interpreting: The Process - October 12th
    3) Deaf Advocacy Council (DAC) - Deafhood for Deaf Individuals - October 23, 30, and November 13

I am very inspired by the successes of these workshops.  Thank you for your support!  Also, thank you to those who have already scheduled workshops through Eye on Langauge for 2011:
     1) ARISE
     2) Deaf Club 45
     3) Tri State Interpreting in West Virginia
     4) Kansas RID Conference
2011 will be a busy year, but I look forward to scheduling more workshops.

Tis' the season for giving thanks! Part 2 of 2

With Thanksgiving coming up this Thursday, it's time to consider giving back to the community, whether with money or time volunteering.  Why don't you consider searching in your area to find an organization working with the Deaf community?  The organization can be run by Deaf people or by Deaf and hearing allies to provide programs, services, and activities for Deaf children and adults.  Consider them in your giving of money and/or time volunteering.

I am looking forward to a GREAT 2011 and seeing Deafhood spread far and wide.  Enjoy the holiday season and thank you for your ongoing support of Eye on Language!

Onward and upward!
