The start of a brand new school year is always an exciting experience for children, parents, teachers, and other school staff.  With the 2010-2011 school year starting up for many children during the next couple of weeks, this is the time for everyone to reflect on the importance of ensuring the best quality of education for Deaf/Hard-of-hearing children.  If we all take a moment to put ourselves in the D/HH child’s shoes and critically examine the education environment from their eyes, we will gain some tools to improve certain areas of their instruction, especially with language and literacy.  If we make the commitment to provide them with consistent access to ASL and English, as well as to make literacy FUN, then strides will be made in the children’s learning!  Remember, we work for the children!  Best wishes for a wonderful school year!

Hello!  My name is Rebecca Dadey.  I am thrilled to launch my new website for Eye on Language.  As a consultant for Eye on Language, I can provide workshops/presentations, professional development training, observations, and advocacy in Deaf Education for deaf/hard-of-hearing students and their families, teachers, interpreters, and school administrators.  I also provide workshops and training in Deafhood and American Sign Language (ASL) for both Deaf and hearing communities, including interpreters.  Feel free to contact me any time to request consultant services.

Thank you for taking the time to browse my website!  I have posted information, links, and resources that will help you find more information about Deaf Education, Deafhood, and ASL.  I will continue to update the website from time to time with new, relevant information, so be sure to visit again often!  Please let me know of any thoughts, comments, or feedback you may have to improve this site.  Thank you!
